Did you catch the slang? Crush is the slang. It means I like him/her, or I am interested in him/her romantically.

He is so hot!
Hot is used to describe someone. Of course, the regular meaning is used in “It’s hot outside.”. But, in this situation, it means that they are cute or attractive. It can be used for both men and women.

In this sentence, the slang is catch feelings. It is used with the younger generation. It means to begin to like someone. This slang implies that it is a bit of a surprise unexpected.

To hit on someone does not mean to harm them. It means to flirt with or compliment someone. You can tell your friend: he should talk to the girl he likes by saying, Go hit on her!
