romantic interests はアメリカでは「恋愛対象となる相手」の意味で使われているようです。romantic interests と同じ意味を持つ言葉で love interest (love interests) があります。

Today we are going to learn 5 sentences to talk about romantic interests. These sentences include American slang.
今日は恋愛(対象)に関する５つのアメリカ表現を勉強します。これらの英文にはアメリカのスラング表現が含まれています。

[補足説明] romantic interests はアメリカでは「恋愛対象の相手」という意味。

Did you catch the slang? Crush is the slang. It means I like him/her, or I am interested in him/her romantically.
スラング表現は聞き取れましたか？　Crushはスラング表現です。誰かのことを好き、又は興味があるという意味です。

Hot is used to describe someone. Of course, the regular meaning is used in “It’s hot outside.”.
（ここの例文では）Hotは人を説明をするために用います。もちろん通常の意味では「外は暑いです」などと使います。

But, in this situation, it means that they are cute or attractive. It can be used for both men and women.
しかしこの場合では、彼らが魅力的/彼女らが可愛という意味です。男と女の両方を説明するのに使えます。

In this sentence, the slang is catch feelings. It is used with the younger generation. It means to begin to like someone.
この文のスラング表現はcatch feelingsです。若い人が良く使う表現です。誰かの事を好きになっているっていう意味です。

This slang implies that it is a bit of a surprise unexpected.
このスラングは、予想外のちょっとした驚きというニュアンスを含みます。

To hit on someone does not mean to harm them. It means to flirt with or compliment someone.
To hit on someoneは「誰かを傷つける」という意味ではありません。面白半分に気を引く、または褒めるという意味です。

You can tell your friend: he should talk to the girl he likes by saying, Go hit on her!
あなたは友達に対し、「おまえのタイプの女性にGo hit on herと話すべきだ」と言うことができます。

Sometimes we fully say “ask me out on a date”, but now it’s often shortened down to asked me out.
時々、“asked me out on a date”と省略無しで使いますが、今はよく省略して“asked me out”と言います。

This means that a boy came up and said “Hey, will you go on a date with me?” It can be used by both boys and girls.
この文の意味は、男性が現れて「ヘイ、オレとデートに行かない？」と言われた、という意味です。この表現は男性も女性も使えます。

When we are talking about romantic interests, there tends to be a lot of slang used.

So these are some words you might hear if you are talking to friends, or if you are watching American dramas, or movies or something like that.
これらのいくつかの言葉は、あなたが（アメリカ人の）友達と話す時や、アメリカのドラマや、映画やそのようなものを見る時に、聞くことがあるかもしれません。
